This is an exciting and fast-paced opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst (BA) in our expanding AI Promo squad within our Advanced Analytics tribe. This is a pivotal role in delivering a highly anticipated AI decision engine for our Merchandising team, a key milestone on our journey to “An Endeavour where data and AI fuel people across the group to create our more sociable future”.

To do so, this role will heavily collaborate with the product manager, user experience researcher, internal SMEs, scientists, and external teams like Merchandising, Finance, and Marketing to capture the required, desired, feasible, and viable. Your skills in business analytics, particularly collaboration, facilitation, and documentation, will make you a central “go-to” figure between our business and development teams.

This is a great opportunity for a BA who is comfortable working with, or willing to upskill in, the building blocks of AI / ML modelling and software development within an agile delivery framework. In addition to the core of the role, we encourage ideas for continuous improvement, whether it’s elevating efficiencies, collaboration, or inclusivity.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

• Communicating with the Product Manager and/or Delivery Lead to align on priorities and needs throughout the day, formulate the squad backlog, and/or design squad or term planning events
• Facilitate curious and collaborative conversations with business SMEs or stakeholders to understand the user value of identifying and solving problems and opportunities in the current state
• Engagement with the User Experience Researchers to understand user desires and further enable UX concepts and prototypes in line with business requirements
• Engagement with technical squad members to understand solution feasibility 
• Participating in end user research or support as required
• Facilitating backlog refinement with the squad, leveraging a high level understanding of AI or ML and software development
• Creating and refining epics and stories aligned to customer and business problems, including user stories, functional and non functional requirements, and acceptance criteria

• Strong business analysis experience
• Technical BA background, proficient in working with data and navigating AI tool decisions
• Trusted collaborator; a partnership mindset that values opinions and facilitates progress towards outcomes, while also challenging and validating opinions
• Strong documentation skills; able to create detailed and effective user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria and process maps
• Analytical problem solver; able to navigate and own complex problems while keeping an eye on the big picture
• Comfortable communicator; able to develop relationships using sharp communication skills and an enthusiastic, positive attitude
• Comfort and familiarity within an agile product mindset
