The Configuration Specialist (ServiceNow) is responsible for the governance, integrity, and continuous evolution of Endeavour Group’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Acting as a critical conduit between Service Management and the broader Technology teams, this role ensures that configuration data is comprehensive, reliable, and directly supports ITIL processes, ITOM initiatives, and data-driven decision-making. The Specialist fully leverages ServiceNow capabilities to optimise technical workflows, manage the development backlog, and drive cross-functional automation across the enterprise.

CMDB Governance and Data Integrity

  • Maintain and continuously improve the configuration management framework, ensuring alignment with ITIL 4 standards and industry best practices.

  • Implement robust governance controls and automated reconciliation tasks to ensure CMDB accuracy, relationship integrity, and adherence to established policies.

  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of Configuration Items (CIs) to ensure the CMDB remains a trusted "source of truth" for the organization.

Integration and Automation

  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate configuration data collection and reconciliation.

  • Drive the deployment and optimisation of Discovery and Service Graph Connectors to reduce manual effort and increase visibility into the hybrid infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with Architecture and Cyber Security to implement secure, automated data ingestion pipelines from platforms like Azure, GCP, and Dynatrace.

ServiceNow Platform Expertise

  • Lead initiatives to configure the ServiceNow platform to enhance Endeavour’s ITSM capabilities, including incident, change, and problem management modules.

  • Serve as the SME for ITSM and ITOM modules, developing service catalogs, workflows, and forms to enhance service reliability.

  • Develop and manage service catalog items, forms, workflows, and integrations to support and enhance ITSM capabilities, including incident, change, release, asset and problem management modules.

Event  Management:

  • Implement and manage integrations with monitoring and alerting platforms (e.g., Dynatrace), ensuring seamless event management within ServiceNow.

  • Configure event handlers and automated workflows for incident creation, escalation, and resolution. Oversee the integration of event sources and observability tools into the Event Management system. Ensure seamless CI data exchange between monitoring systems (e.g., network monitoring, server monitoring, APM, etc.) and ServiceNow.

Reporting and Catalog Management:

  • Support and implements automated reporting, dashboards, and metrics for CMDB health and process maturity.

  • Develop dashboards and data insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

  •  Manage and co-ordinate the backlog of ServiceNow ITSM enhancements, prioritsing in line with organizational goals and Service Enablement team requirements to ensure optimal resource allocation and functionality.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with stakeholders across IT Service Delivery, Operations, and Architecture to ensure configuration data supports change, incident, and problem management effectively.

  • Act as the primary engagement point for Service Management regarding changes on ServiceNow, driving improvements and adoption of best practices in event management, asset management, and lifecycle management.

  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to other team members and end users on using ServiceNow and CMDB.


What do we need from you

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • ServiceNow Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience administering or managing ServiceNow, with a focus on ITSM, ITOM, and CMDB.

  • ServiceNow certifications (CIS – ITSM, CIS – Discovery, CMDB, or ITOM Implementation Specialist) highly regarded.

  • Pipeline Ownership and Prioritisation: Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise backlogs, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and align ServiceNow functionalities with organisational needs.

  • CMDB Management: Proven experience managing and maintaining a CMDB, including knowledge of IT assets and configuration items.

  • ITIL Proficiency: Solid understanding of ITIL 4 principles, particularly in incident, problem, and change management processes.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Skilled in creating reports and dashboards within ServiceNow and other tools to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Automation and Scripting: Familiarity with JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow automation workflows to streamline IT processes.

  • Thought Leadership: Ability to provide strategic input, drive best practices, and engage with cross-functional teams to maximise ServiceNow capabilities.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly understand and address complex issues.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, capable of working with diverse teams and effectively translating technical terms for business stakeholders.

  • Collaboration and Relationship Management: Build strong relationships across teams to achieve shared objectives and foster a collaborative work environment.

  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactively identifies areas for improvement, focusing on streamlining processes and enhancing service quality.
