The Energy Manager will develop and implement an end-to-end energy strategy framework for continuous improvement of energy supply and consumption within the Endeavour Facilities Management function. 

The Energy Manager is accountable for driving stakeholder engagement and to develop and deliver a range of energy efficiency projects across multi-site roll-out programs driving a culture of continuous improvement.                        
This role is responsible for managing the Energy budgets for the Group, including reducing the cost of doing business, through initiatives such as contract management, efficiency projects, asset optimisation and regulatory engagement. Optimally manage the annual energy Capex and opex spend as well as implementing strategies to deliver on the 'Planet Pillar'  sustainability targets.

The Energy Manager will collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external groups, bringing them together to deliver superior outcomes that are in line with current industry best practice whilst engaging multiple key stakeholders within Endeavour group.

Here is a taste of what you can expect in this role:

  • Develop and implement a strategic energy plan entailing procurement, billing management and energy reduction programs and initiatives to deliver Endeavours commitment to 100% renewable electricity by 2030 
  • Lead ownership of Energy Management transition to Endeavour (ex Woolworths) and consolidate practices and approach across our Hotel and Retail businesses
  • Manage energy relationship with key Energy providers and consultants 
  • Work with consultants and group procurement to identify and deliver commercial arrangements where required to deliver the energy plan
  • Support Group Procurement and external partners in developing and executing tenders and/or contract negotiations
  • Establish an improved data recording, collection and analysis system to keep track of energy consumption.
  • Manage the energy billing validation contract to identify anomalies and to ensure the billing is processed correctly
  • Interpret data and translate into initiatives that drive continuous improvement
    Manage communication across project stakeholders, including our site teams, senior management, business units, contractors and equipment suppliers        
  • Achieve agreed financial targets and budget management
  • Initiate activities to improve monitoring and process control to reduce energy and the on-going deployment of strategies to minimise energy consumption for all brands
  • Manage purchasing and payment process of equipment & services including raising purchase orders, managing schedules and processing invoice payment
  • Develop and implement roll-out plans to optimise available resources, maintain project budgets, maximise project value creation and minimise impacts to site operations
  • Manage the handover process on completion of projects along with site quality audits post retrofit works
  • Ensure project records are kept up to date with program, budget and completion detail with associated progress reporting
  • Collect and maintain pre and post implementation data for State and Federal Government energy abatement/efficiency schemes

Qualifications

  • Proven experience developing, presenting and implementing energy minimisation strategies
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, facilities management or a business discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing external service providers
  • Strong ability to manage multiple project sites and stakeholders to drive & deliver a national project plan
  • Project management or project coordination experience, preferably in fast paced, multi-site roll out type programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, costing and cost analysis 
  • Ability to present complex issues to senior management in an easily understood way and facilitate decision making processes.
  • Awareness and understanding of applicable Australian and International Standards and codes of practice
  • High level user of Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint or Google + 
  • Well developed presentation and communication skills
  • Retail or FMCG experience preferable
