The Environment Lead- E2E Stores for Non-Production Environments will be responsible for managing and maintaining complex retail applications, ensuring the integrity, stability, and health of non-production environments. This role requires coordination with multiple SaaS vendors, 3rd party application providers, system integrators (SI), and internal teams to ensure seamless deployment and testing operations. Additionally, the Environment Manager will oversee the management of the test lab, including hardware and networking equipment (e.g., switches, routers, hubs), ensuring all systems run optimally for application testing and development. The role ensures that these environments are properly configured, maintained, and optimised to support the organisation's SDLC processes and IT Operations effectively.
Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
Non-Production Environment Management:
Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and operational health of all non-production environments (e.g., Dev, QA, UAT, Staging) for EDG Store application
Ensure that non-production environments replicate the production environment as closely as possible for accurate testing and troubleshooting.
Monitor and manage environment performance, resource utilization, and resolve issues proactively.
Coordinate non-production environment code releases, including version control, testing readiness, and environment clean-up.
Application Package Deployment:
Manage application package deployments across multiple non-production environments, ensuring smooth transitions between development, testing, and UAT phases.
Collaborate with development and testing teams to ensure timely deployment of builds, patches, and upgrades.
Establish and manage deployment pipelines for non-production environments, ensuring minimal downtime and system stability.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Work with multiple SaaS vendors, 3rd party application providers, and system integrators (SI) to ensure seamless integration of their services and applications into the non-production environment.
Act as a liaison between the application teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to prioritize tasks, track progress, and resolve any blockers related to the non-production environments.
Coordinate with Infrastructure and IT teams for network-related needs (e.g., switches, routers, hubs) to ensure the environment is properly configured for optimal performance.
Now let’s talk about you:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in environment management, release management, or related roles within an IT or software development environment.
- Strong knowledge of deployment, release management methodologies and best practices.
- Proficiency in version control systems and release automation tools
- Experience with application deployment on cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accuracy and consistency in the release process.
