The key role of the Finance Analyst (FA) will help answer both the 'what' and 'why’ in our business. This role will drive increases in speed to action for future planning & forecasting as we transform how our finance and retail business partners work together to help drive the “last mile” delivery & fulfillment, and Customer Hub business forward.
You will collaborate with stakeholders from various departments, including the Delivery, Fulfillment and Customer Hub teams, as well as finance, accounting and IT to understand their reporting requirements, analyse data, and identify process improvements. Your main objective is to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of financial reporting, particularly in situations involving market and network changes to the Endeavour Delivery business model.
This role will also includes some financial control and month-end accounting including posting and reviewing of month end accruals, MTD actuals versus budget results, reconciliations and balance sheet clearing.

The role will support the Finance Business Partner - Last Mile (Delivery & Fulfillment) and will report into the Finance Manager - Last Mile (Delivery & Fulfillment).

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
Financial Control & Month-End Reporting
- End-to-End Month-End Management: Support to lead the complete month-end accounting cycle, including system rollovers, accruals, and prepayments are accurately posted within strict financial timelines.
- Balance Sheet Stewardship: Prepare and manage Balance Sheet reconciliations, taking responsibility for clearing reconciling items and partnering with Group Accounting to report on risks, upsides, and downsides.
- Billing & Intercompany Operations: Oversee the billing process for internal brands and intercompany recharges, ensuring costs are accurately allocated, invoiced, and reconciled across business units.
- System Alignment & Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy between financial systems (D365, SAP) and operational data (Freight Profiles) by performing necessary true-ups and validations.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Variance Analysis & Insights: Deep dive into financial results to identify key drivers of change, utilising financial models to explain the "whys" behind variances to Finance Managers and operational stakeholders.
- Commercial Business Partnering: Provide commercial insights and financial support to the Commercial team and National Delivery Manager to drive E-Com profitability, sustainability, and savings initiatives.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist in the budgeting process by analyzing fixed versus variable delivery costs, supporting CODB line items, and driving the development of new brand rate cards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present Standard Delivery financial results in monthly BPR forums and collaborate with stakeholders to identify financial call-outs or risks prior to Day One reporting.
Operational Finance, Systems & Improvement
- Logistics Financial Operations: Manage the invoicing and payment processes for Depot Managers and external logistics providers (2PL/3PL), including detailed analysis of Driver’s Pay and delivery volume profiles.
- Financial Modeling & Reporting: Build and maintain financial models to measure performance, while acting as a liaison with IT to develop insightful, automated reporting that supports an agile business model.
- Process Improvement: Investigate and execute process improvement opportunities, such as delivery cost realignments and efficiency initiatives across internal operations and external carriers.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Support the wider team with ad-hoc financial analysis and assist business partners in understanding initiative savings and operational performance.
Now let’s talk about you:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (eg: Commerce/Finance)
- 1 - 2 years experience working closely as or with a Business Analyst.
- 3 - 5 years expense in a large commercial organisation / accounting firm
- Financial modelling experience
- Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using tools like Google Sheets, SQL, or Data visualization software.
- Proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office - Advanced Excel, and strong systems learning skills
- Understanding of current accounting standards
