The BWS Finance team are responsible for the financial leadership of a highly competitive +1,450 store retail liquor business. To be successful, the BWS Finance team focuses on partnering across multiple teams driving optimal store performance whilst maintaining an objective viewpoint and a strong financial control framework.
As the Finance Business Partner - Operations, you will partner with the BWS Operations team and other key stakeholders providing commercial support that will drive store performance and insight leading to effective decision making across our network.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role
- Business partner to the State General Managers (Operations).
- Support decision making through commercial insight that enables the optimisation of store performance across the retail network (+1,450 stores)
- Responsible for the production and distribution of accurate, timely and insightful performance reporting including state based business reviews which drive actions across the Operations team.
- Build ad hoc reports and analysis based on the needs of the Operations teams, including category, channel, or competitor insights to drive improved outcomes whilst keeping team, customer and commercials in mind.
- Ownership for the planning, preparation and review of store budgets; including clear communication and engagement with third party contributors and alignment from the Operations team.
- Partnering with other key stakeholder groups including the Dan Murphy’s finance team, Endeavour format finance team and the Simpler for Stores (SFS) team to understand financial performance, track business initiatives and align process across our retail brands.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking to promote efficiency, through a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop initiatives with supporting analysis and recommendations on cost reduction opportunities and/or to improve store financial performance.
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring across Endeavour finance as well as the broader Operations team including our Connected Communities. Play the role of financial advisor in Operations activities
Now let’s talk about you
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with Operations experience desired
- CA / CPA Qualified preferred
- An ability and passion to work with teams outside of finance to deliver great end to end outcomes
- Excellent communication skills and previous experience managing senior stakeholders in a retail or matrix environment
- Ability to plan and coordinate reporting and project timetables, and deliver on multiple work streams
- Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience; able to make the complex simple
- Sound organisational and effective time management skills, can handle pressure and manage expectations whilst supporting people from across different departments
- Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, Tableau, SAP)
