Are you a Financial Crime and Compliance Assurance expert with a knack for detail and a passion for continuous improvement? We're looking for a highly motivated Financial Crime & Gaming Compliance Assurance Specialist to join our Group Risk and Compliance team. This is a critical second line of defense role focused on enhancing our control environment and ensuring the highest levels of compliance across our operations, particularly in AML/CTF and Gaming Compliance.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

As the Specialist, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing Line 2 Assurance reviews to manage and mitigate financial crime and gaming compliance risks. Your core focus areas will include:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in AML/CTF regulations, with a strong working knowledge of gaming compliance regulations.
  • Conduct Assurance reviews according to the Risk Assurance Methodology and execute the Assurance Plan to assess the effectiveness of financial crime processes, systems, and controls.
  • Identify control gaps and recommend enhancements to improve operational efficiency and continuously evolve best practices.
  • Support a right-sized assurance plan by leveraging reviews across all lines of defense and building an effective feedback loop to cascade learnings.
  • Apply data analytics to identify actionable insights, resulting in material enhancements to the control environment.
  • Support the creation of reporting dashboards to provide informative insights, bringing forth thematic and connected risk patterns.
  • Contribute to the establishment of tools for ongoing Design and Operating effectiveness review and reporting.
  • Assist in the review of Obligation Compliance Plan (OCP) reporting for AML/CTF and Gaming Compliance risks.
  • Work collaboratively with line 1 operations and business teams to identify and plan appropriate corrective actions and evaluate policy/process improvements.
  • Challenge colleagues to build efficient, world-class risk management controls and processes.
  • Forge strong working relationships with AML risk, AML operations, safer gambling teams, and other internal stakeholders.

What do we need from you

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • 2+ years of experience in controls testing/reviews within financial crime or gaming compliance risk.
  • Deep understanding of AML/CTF legislation and industry knowledge.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to effectively identify and unpack discrepancies, focused on continuous improvement.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills to build and foster positive relationships.
  • Strong initiative, time management, and exceptional communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Relevant experience in assurance, quality checks, or internal/external audit, with a focus on risk and compliance.
  • Advanced data analytics and visualisation skills and ability to work constructively with data/technology stakeholders.
