Head Chef | Allenstown Hotel
We’re searching for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at the Allenstown Hotel - the beating heart of our local community and the place where pub classics meet plates locals can’t get enough of.
On Upper Dawson Road, the Allenstown Hotel is a family friendly dining destination. Our Graziers Steakhouse is the perfect place for families to meet and for friends to catch up.
If there's one thing we take seriously, it's steak. Take a look at our menu and our guests will see a huge selection of succulent steaks, fresh seafood and classic pub fare. It's more than just food; we showcase seasonal produce, sustainable seafood and our offering is reminiscent of the traditional butcher shops in past years. We pride ourselves on our generous hospitality and old fashioned customer service.
If our guests are after a drink, they can pop into our Sports Bar and have their choice of a range of beer on tap while they watch the game on the big screen. Whether celebrating an event, dining in our bistro or relaxing in the Sports Bar, the Allenstown Hotel is the best place to be.
Salary: From $82,000 + superannuation + bonus scheme
A day in the life of a Head Chef:
- Command the kitchen like it’s your own, keeping it running smooth, safe, and profitable
- Be a key part of the leadership crew, working closely with the Publican and FOH team
- Share your passion, skills, and creativity to grow a high-performing kitchen team
- Keep the connection between the kitchen and front of house flowing with good vibes and great food every shift
Inherent requirements:
This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

- You’ve got the experience, confidence, and pride to own the kitchen and make it shine
- You’ve got trade cooking qualifications and food safety certifications sorted
- You live and breathe the Head Chef life - creating food people talk about and coming in each day ready to lead
