Are you an experienced food and beverage professional who thrives on the energy of a packed dining room? Do you look at a busy floor and instinctively know how to orchestrate team pace, minimize ticket times, and maximize the guest experience? The Jimboomba Tavern is looking for a hands-on, floor-owning Restaurant Manager to take full charge of our high-volume bistro.
"The Jimboomba" serves hundreds of meals a day to a loyal local community. We need a leader who treats the bistro floor like a main stage, someone who is obsessed with the details of service, passionate about team development, and ready to partner with our kitchen to deliver exceptional pub dining every single shift.
A day in the life of an Restaurant Manager:
- Take full ownership of the dining floor and outdoor terraces during high-volume lunch and dinner rushes.
- Train, mentor, and drill front-of-house staff on steps of service, greeting protocols, and upselling.
- Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure seamless communication, tight ticket times, and flawless food presentation.
- Optimize floor schedules to match trading peaks, managing labor costs without compromising on service quality.
- Be a visible, welcoming presence on the floor, handling guest feedback proactively and building strong rapport with regulars.
Inherent requirements:
This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
About you:
- You have a proven track record as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Venue Manager, or high-volume F&B Supervisor.
- You are a systems-driven leader who understands table turns, reservation management, and floor efficiency.
- You possess excellent communication skills and the ability to coach a young, energetic team.
- You stay calm, composed, and focused under the pressure of a multi-hundred-cover service.
- You hold a current QLD RSA certificate.
