Working closely with our partners, including Primary Connect, they lead efforts to champion safety and compliance programs while fostering a culture of responsibility and adherence.

The focus of this role includes driving the implementation of robust transport procedures within the wider Endeavour Group Safety Management System to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, particularly the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.

As the Safety & Risk Manager - Supply Chain, you will provide leadership in developing and implementing solutions to mitigate and improve transport safety and compliance risks associated with freight movements in both our last mile (B2C) and to-store delivery networks.

Sound good? Read on.

Here is a taste of what you can expect in this role:

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update comprehensive CoR policies, procedures, and documentation to govern all transport activities, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation such as the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance excellence.
  • Implement a CoR Management Plan that encompasses legislative overviews, obligations, responsibilities, and duties of all relevant parties involved in the transport chain.
  • Develop, review, and implement comprehensive CoR training programs tailored to legislative requirements and team members' specific needs; monitor training effectiveness through ongoing assessments and reviews.
  • Support sites in maintaining compliance with accreditation modules related to mass management, maintenance management, and fatigue management, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Review and implement adequate monitoring mechanisms, including in-vehicle monitoring systems, to track driver activities, identify compliance issues, and facilitate incident reporting and investigation, promoting a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Manage contracts with third-party drivers and logistics companies, conducting regular audits and monitoring to ensure compliance with safety and CoR requirements, mitigating risks, and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Report CoR incidents promptly in the Endeavour Group Safety Management System and to relevant authorities if required, maintaining accurate incident registers and conducting periodic reviews to identify trends and areas for improvement, fostering a proactive approach to incident management.
  • Collaborate with Distribution Centres (DCs) outside the Partnership Agreement to align compliance standards and ensure consistency in CoR obligations and responsibilities across all distribution channels.

  • Qualifications in Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
  • Bachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Retail Distribution Centre operating practices, policies, and procedures would be beneficial.
