The Senior AML Operations Manager plays a critical role in ALH living our value of leading responsibly through their leadership of the Financial Crime Operations team. This role has direct responsibility for the development, management and enhancement of critical Financial Crime Operations processes across ALH.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
- Lead and manage the Anti Money Laundering Operations team and be accountable for the team's outcomes.
- Provide updates on the volume and productivity of work for each workstream along with any AML Operations related reporting to ensure the team is on track and delivering per applicable policies and procedures.
- Develop and enhance critical Financial Crime processes through process mapping, creating business requirements and leading change management.
- Represent sponsors, as the General Managers delegate, in relevant forums.
- Design future state technology requirements for Financial Crime management including transaction monitoring, Enhanced Customer Due Diligence, screening, case management, customer risk assessment.
- Responsible for building an effective Customer Due Diligence and customer screening operations function and implementing procedures and processes.
- Day-to-day management of the CDD operations and customer screening function, including CDD processes meet procedures, handling escalations and working with ALH Compliance to manage risk.
- Work with ALH leadership and gaming team members to ensure AML training and ongoing feedback is embedded in the business and to frontline teams.
- On occasion represent ALH with external regulatory bodies such AUSTRAC and state gaming regulators.
- Advise on, and escalate, higher risk relationships and reputation risks arising from Customer Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring and customer screening to Management.
- Oversee the screening of incoming employees through World Check and police checks; escalation of cases and the provision of advice by the team on results.
- Report to senior management/executives on a periodic basis.
- Partner with functional experts (i.e. Legal, Compliance, Business) to develop procedures, processes and controls.
- Prepare the applicable regulatory reporting e.g. Suspicious Matter Reporting (SMR), Annual Compliance Report (ACR),etc. in line with approved guidance.
- Ensure timely lodgment of Regulatory reporting on AUSTRAC online within designated SLA.
Now let’s talk about you:
- Experience (8+ Years) in a direct Financial Crime Operations leadership role.
- Experience in a compliance function role within a retail, gaming/wagering or financial services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
- Ability to continuously explore new ways to understand and deliver on changing customer needs.
- Stakeholder management skills to build and foster positive relationships.
- Strong initiative, time management and exceptional communication skills.
- Experience in data visualisation and powerBI creation (desirable).
- Financial Crime Process enhancement experience (desirable).
- Financial Crime external technology landscape experience (desirable).
