We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GCP Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Endeavour Group’s systems infrastructure. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our IT systems.

Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of GCP cloud infrastructure, like provisioning, design, automation, monitoring, optimisation, and security.

You will have proven experience in designing and implementing robust GCP Landing Zones/Cloud Foundations is essential. This includes expertise in the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), governance, guardrails, security, role-based access control (RBAC), cloud interconnects, and policy frameworks.

As a key member of our IT team, you will collaborate with cross-functional departments to understand business requirements and provide technical expertise, ensuring the seamless integration of cloud- & on-prem resources.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer on GCP public cloud environments

  • Experience in Cloud Operations on the GCP platform, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

  • Strong systems administration background managing both Windows and Linux server operating systems.

  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in ITIL service operations, including incident management, problem resolution, change management, and risk mitigation.

  • Proven track record of driving continuous service improvement within multi-cloud environments. 

  • Extensive experience managing the entire project lifecycle from inception to BAU operations.

  • Strong analytical skills to reverse engineer complex solutions and create clear, comprehensive documentation (As-Built, Low Level Design, Operating Procedures etc).

  • Experience deploying resources via DevOps pipelines (Terraform).

  • Excellent stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Deep understanding of solution architecture principles and their application to cloud technologies.

  • Solid grasp of network structures and topologies.

  • Experience with Cloud FinOps i.e. proven ability to recommend initiatives to optimise cloud spend.

  • Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub and Terraform


What do we need from you

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Services like App Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud DNS, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Load Balancing, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), VPC Service Controls & Identity & Access Management (IAM)

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing robust GCP Landing Zones/Cloud Foundations, incorporating CAF, Governance, Guardrails, Security, RBAC, Cloud Interconnects, and Policy frameworks etc.

  • Level 2 & 3 technical support and troubleshooting across a range of technologies (including DNS, DHCP, Networking, Wintel systems, etc). 

  • Windows and Linux Administration skills, including the ability to troubleshoot a diverse range of issues across the cloud estate.

Desirables

  • Previous experience working with retail and/or service provider environments (MSP) 

  • Diverse background encompassing operations, support, solution design and implementation

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in large-scale, complex enterprise environments.

  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.

  • Strong self-motivation and ability to independently manage tasks from start to finish.

  • Positive, collaborative team player with a willingness to contribute across the broader infrastructure team.

  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies and skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical solutions to non-technical audiences in business terms.

  • GCP Certifications like ‎Associate Cloud Engineer, ‎Professional Cloud Architect ‎or Cloud Digital Leader
