Together we share our passion for our products and industry; it’s what inspires us to dream big, and continue to create new experiences for our customers and teams across Australia. If you thrive on positive energy, we want to meet you!
- Love what you do and leave your mark
- Hybrid ways of working
- We need someone who is creatively gifted to challenge thinking and have a background that is more creative than executional, focusing on user experience
The Senior Manager of Design is the strategic lead for the end-to-end customer journey. This role defines the standards for UX, UI, and Service Design across all retail touchpoints. A critical component of this role is managing a Hybrid Partner Model, overseeing external design agencies and contractors to ensure that all outsourced work meets the internal "Definition of Great" and integrates seamlessly into the broader retail ecosystem.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
1. Design Authority & Partner Governance
External Design Oversight: Act as the primary design gatekeeper for all partner-led work. Review and approve wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and service blueprints created by external agencies to ensure alignment with brand standards.
Creative Direction: Provide clear, actionable creative briefs to partners. Lead "critique" sessions to ensure external teams understand the nuances of the retail strategy and customer personas.
Partner Onboarding: Develop and manage the "Design Playbook" for partners, including access to the Design System, research repositories, and brand assets to ensure day-one productivity.
2. Design Standards & System Management
Design System Stewardship: Maintain a centralized Design System (Figma) that serves as the "Single Source of Truth" for both internal squads and external partners.
Service Design Blueprinting: Architect the omnichannel journey, ensuring that partner-designed digital features align with physical in-store service standards and operational capabilities.
Quality Assurance (QA): Conduct regular audits of partner output to ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility standards and mobile-first retail best practices.
3. Strategy & Retail Innovation
Omnichannel CX Strategy: Define how digital interfaces (Web/App) interact with physical retail environments (In-store kiosks, POS, Staff devices).
Research & Validation: Direct partner-led user research and usability testing. Synthesize findings into actionable design improvements that drive retail conversion and Customer Lifetime Value (CLV).
Data-Driven Iteration: Use analytics and A/B testing data to hold partners accountable for the performance of their designs, focusing on friction reduction in the "Path to Purchase."
4. Leadership & Design Operations (DesOps)
Resource Orchestration: Balance the workload between the internal design team and external partners to ensure the product roadmap is supported during peak delivery periods.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Senior Delivery Manager to ensure partner-led design sprints are synchronized with engineering build cycles
Now let’s talk about you:
Professional Expertise
Partner Management: Proven experience managing creative or UX agencies, including budget oversight and performance evaluation.
Retail Design Mastery: Deep knowledge of e-commerce UI patterns (e.g., faceted search, mini-carts, guest checkout) and physical service design.
Tooling Proficiency: Expert-level use of Figma (specifically Library Management and Branching) to manage multi-user design environments.
Standards & Accessibility: Mastery of WCAG 2.2 and inclusive design principles within a commercial context.
Experience & Qualifications
