Job Description

As the Senior Manager Financial Crime Intelligence & Capability you will play a critical role in ALH Groups priority of leading targeted and complex investigations, conducting intelligence assessments, and performing thematic reviews.

The role also works with ALH leadership and gaming team members to ensure targeted AML training and ongoing feedback is embedded in the business to lift group capability.

The role will be the key liaison officer with law enforcement and regulatory intelligence bodies to discuss insights & intelligence with the aim of creating strong partnerships including Memorandums Of Understandings (MOU’s).

Finally, the role will be designated as the Deputy AML/CTF Compliance Officer (AMLCO) and work closely with the Group AMLCO to ensure implementation of the AML/CTF Program through leading capability (people, processes, technology & data).

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Lead the implementation of the Program and identify capability required to enhance the groups Financial Crime Risk Management.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial crime intelligence strategy aligned with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set objectives, monitor progress, and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Maintain specialist AML/CTF and regulatory knowledge with a focus on financial crime typologies and emerging risks
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of financial crime intelligence, money laundering, responsible gaming and corruption.
  • Utilise advanced analytical tools and methodologies to identify trends, risks, and emerging threats.
  • Develop and refine predictive models to enhance the detection and prevention of financial crime.
  • Oversee the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the financial crime intelligence function.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements related to financial crime.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement controls to mitigate financial crime risks.
  • Prepare and present reports on financial crime trends, investigations, and compliance status to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Liaise with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and other external partners to exchange information and collaborate on investigations.
  • Represent the organisation in industry forums and public speaking engagements on financial crime.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to internal departments on financial crime matters.
  • Design the group Financial Crime capability roadmap as part of the Player Protect Strategy.
  • Act as an SME to the ALH transformation team when designing the future state of gaming (including key Responsibility capability).
  • Provide expert advice to external parties as the group develops capability such as cashless gaming and EFT payments.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • 12+ Years experience in financial crime intelligence / senior law enforcement roles. 
  • Experience in a compliance function leadership role within a retail, gaming/wagering or financial services environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at a senior level, along with strong knowledge of AML/CTF requirements and Australian regulations.
  • Advanced understanding of ML intelligence methodologies, and ability to manage an intelligence/investigative function.
  • Experience leading Financial Crime transformation projects with a focus on technology and data capability.
  • Strong initiative, time management and exceptional communication skills.
  • Proven track record of managing complex investigations.
  • Experience with developing Responsible Gaming triggers/red flags & the interplay with Financial Crime triggers/red flags, desirable.
  • Operation experience working directly with AUSTRAC Intelligence teams & law enforcement agencies, desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audience, desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to financial crime, desirable.
  • Ability to continuously explore new ways to understand and deliver on changing customer needs, desirable.
