About the Role

State Executive Chef | South Queensland

An exciting career opportunity exists for a passionate State Executive Chef to support our venues in delivering exceptional food offerings and standards across South Queensland.

As a State Executive Chef, you will play an active role in shaping venue food offerings to ensure they are relevant to the market while adhering to ALH standards. You will lead a culture of safe practices, ensuring ongoing auditing and continuous improvement in food safety across all venues. You will also contribute to succession planning for future leaders and provide support in the recruitment and development of Head Chefs.


A day in the life of a State Executive Chef:

  • Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring diverse culinary teams across multiple venues.
  • Proven ability to drive performance, build talent pipelines, and foster a culture of collaboration and trust.
  • Resilient and adaptable in managing complex, fast-paced environments and dynamic operational environments.
  • Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and trust across diverse teams.
  • Drive recruitment, training, and succession planning to build capability and retain top culinary talent.
  • Strong commercial focus with expertise in monitoring labour, cost controls, and P&L performance for continuous improvement.
  • ​​​​​​​Monitor and analyse kitchen performance, including labour, wastage, and P&L reports, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • You bring a balance of creativity and commercial acumen, with a proven ability to deliver both innovation and profitability.

  • You are passionate about mentoring and developing chefs, building strong teams, and creating pathways for future leaders.
