Endeavour Group demerged from Woolworths in 2021 and as part of the transition is taking the opportunity to transform how we operate as an independent business and establish supporting technology.

We are seeking a skilled Technology Build & Unit Test Lead to join our dynamic team. The Build & Unit Test Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of build processes and unit testing strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a meticulous attention to detail.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role

 

  • Develop and maintain automated build scripts and procedures for various  software projects.
  • Configure, customize, and optimize build tools and systems to streamline the build process.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot build failures, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate new code branches and releases into the build process.
  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive unit test suites for software components and modules.
  • Establish and enforce unit testing best practices and standards across development teams.
  • Execute unit tests regularly to validate code changes and ensure code coverage.
  • Analyze test results and work with developers to address any issues or deficiencies.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Integrate unit testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor CI/CD pipeline performance and make adjustments to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Document build and unit testing processes, procedures, and configurations.
  • Generate reports on build status, test results, and code coverage metrics.
  • Communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to build and test automation engineers.
  • Mentor team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in build and testing practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in build management, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Hands-on experience with build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
