About the Role
Chef | Highfields Tavern | Dream big with us!
Highfields Tavern is seeking a reliable Casual Chef to join our busy kitchen team. We are looking for a trade-qualified professional who can hit the ground running; while previous experience in a fast-paced, bistro-style pub is a significant bonus, a positive attitude and the ability to maintain high standards during peak service are essential.
To be successful in this role, you must offer excellent availability across a rotating roster, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays. If you are a hardworking chef looking for a flexible role in a high-volume environment with a great local culture, we want to hear from you.
A day in the life of a Chef:
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver high quality dishes that “WOW” our guests
- Contribute positively to our culture which is centred around safety and hygiene, keeping the guest experience at the heart of everything you do
- Maintain a consistent standard of high quality and well presented dishes that align with the ALH standard
What do we need from you
About you:
- You have great experience working in a fast paced kitchen and hold necessary trade cooking qualifications
- You understand that the recipe for an exceptional guest experience contains the perfect mix of passion, precision and productivity
- Strong organisation and communication skills to create the best possible outcomes for our guests and the team
- You’ll be yourself and come as you are - ALH is known for its people
Inherent requirements:
This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
