Reporting to the Senior Lawyer - Regulatory, Brand and Customer Experience, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic commercial lawyer to join our team on a part time (3 days/week), fixed term (13 month) basis.
You will join a team of 8 other lawyers, collectively reporting into the General Counsel - Regulatory, Brand & Customer experience. The team is all about bringing together the key elements of our customer and regulatory touchpoints in one place.
You will be pivotal in supporting Endeavour Group’s marketing, consumer law, ABAC and direct to customer marketing compliance across our businesses Group-wide including Dan Murphy’s, BWS, ALH Hotels, Pinnacle Drinks, our wineries and various corporate functions.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
This role represents a superb opportunity to use your specialist legal and business partnering skills, and commercial acumen to provide advice and support across a range of matters. You will provide legal advice across ‘customer & product’ touchpoints focusing on key strategic areas.
Key Focus Areas:
- Marketing and consumer law compliance: Advising the business on obligations under the Australian Consumer Law, the Spam Act, Do Not Call Register Act and the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code (ABAC).
- Training and process improvement: Delivering ABAC, Spam Act and consumer law training and proactively developing processes to streamline the compliance.
- Customer complaints: assisting Customer Support in relation to customer complaints.
- Product and quality matters: Providing ad hoc legal advice on product related matters such as Quality Assurance (eg recalls, testing, quality complaints), sustainability, labelling, product claims and the Food Standards Code.
Now let’s talk about you:
- 3 - 6 Years Post-Admission Experience (PQE), with a significant focus on relevant commercial legal areas.
- Expertise in autonomously reviewing and advising on marketing, consumer law, ABAC and Spam Act compliance.
- Experience or willingness to upskill in competition and consumer law, digital, data, privacy and brand.
- Degree in law, a legal practising certificate and a minimum of 3 years post admission experience.
Desirable:
- Experience at a Top Tier firm or similar high-quality training.
- Prior in-house legal experience in a large and complex organization, preferably within the retail or hospitality sector.
