ALH are committed to the provision of responsible gambling. A central component to this is staff training. Our teams need to be equipped with the knowledge and skills in order to bring a responsible gambling mindset into their roles. 

As the Learning & Development Specialist | Responsible Gaming, you will oversee all aspects of the management of Responsible Gaming training for ALH Hotels. 

This role will design and deliver evidence based responsible gaming training content that will enhance our teams’ understanding and skillset whilst ensuring we are compliant with our regulatory obligations. 
It will also be responsible for responding to gaps in skills/processes and implement training or knowledge sharing opportunities as well as evaluating training effectiveness.

Here’s a snapshot of the Learning & Development Specialist | Responsible Gaming, responsibilities:

  • Review all current Responsible Gaming training material & supporting resources
  • Design and embed a Responsible Gaming Competency and Capability Framework.
  • Design and deliver evidence based responsible gaming training content that will enhance our teams’ understanding and skillset.
  • Ensure compliance with our regulatory obligations.
  • Create & deliver a Responsible Gaming training plan for new and existing team members, structured to suit a range of team members.
  • Manage adherence of teams toward the above framework by associated Teams
  • Leverage internal learning management systems (Success Factors) to monitor staff learning achievements and outcomes.
  • Undertake and facilitate training workshops (both in person, virtually and other channels where appropriate).
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for skill uplift, to seek specialist information and to uncover any training or skills gaps within our teams.
  • Provide training and solutions to remediate any skill gaps in a timely manner. 
  • Lead the review in evaluating third party training providers for required state based training.
  • Manage engagement of specialist first nations and CALD community experts to assist with formation of bespoke training based on needs.
  • Establish effective channels for stakeholders (venues etc) to provide feedback relating to skill gaps or breaches in compliance requirements.
  • Oversee feedback of teams regarding areas they feel additional training support is needed and evaluate the efficacy in training programmes on a regularly basis.
  • Oversee the maintenance of learning records of training completion.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create suitable reporting for SLT/Board Reporting, to identify training gaps and impacts of training in reducing risk of those gaps.

What do we need from you

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • Tertiary qualification in training, coaching or education or relevant experience
  • +3 years experience in the management of  training and development in an organisation
  • Experience in the gaming or hospitality industry
  • Exposure to responsible gaming principles
  • Exposure to government treatment support services
  • Experience in developing training content based on capabilities, regulatory requirements and organisational skill gaps
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills to liaise with several teams and external parties regarding suitability of training
  • Proactive nature, attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
