What’s a Publican, really?

Publican’ - In the world of Pubs, leadership is the art of turning strangers into friends and friends into loyal guests. The Kensington Tavern is great all-rounder of a venue with a strong Gaming Room. It is also under-going a major renovation. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Publican who wants to step into a, fresh new venue or for an experienced 2IC looking for a step up. Whatever your skillset, previous experience of a busy gaming environment would be highly beneficial.

About The Venue:  

Kensington Tavern is a destination for dining and drinking in Crestmead.

Our Bistro is perfect for family lunches, overdue catch ups with friends and even intimate date nights. Our head chefs source ingredients sustainably and locally to ensure you get the most out of your dining experience. We have something for everyone, including fresh seafood, steaks, pastas, salads and all the pub classics you know and love. We have a dedicated menu for our youngest guests to keep everyone happy, and a delicious and affordable seniors menu.

If it's a drink you're after, or a a place to catch all the action and watch the game, then our Sports Bar is the place for you. Enjoy a refreshing drink while settling into your local and choose from one of the many ice cold beers on tap and from our range of spirits, wine and cider.

No matter what the occasion, locals and visitors have been choosing Kensington as their local favourite for years.

A day in the life of a Publican:

• You know the locals by name, they reckon you’re one of their own, all while keeping a sharp eye on the P&L.
• You run the place like it’s your own modern-day home, keeping things safe, smooth, and compliant.
• You're the pillar of the local community and the driving force behind a high-performing team.
• You put out fires before anyone even notices there was smoke.
• You bring the vibe, the service, and the smiles – every shift, every day.

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

You already know if this is for you. You’ve got the experience, the presence, and the pride it takes to own a pub like it’s been yours forever. You're not just running a venue - you're living the Publican life.

• Hold current industry RSA and RSG/RCG qualifications as per state requirements
