The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and finalisation of technical projects, primarily focusing on core IT infrastructure, network architecture, and retail technology deployments. This role requires a broad technical background, exceptional project management skills, and a proven track record in contract negotiation and vendor management, specifically within a retail environment. The person in this role will transform business requirements into technical deliverables, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
In this role, you will serve as an integral member of the program team, ensuring alignment with the project management methodologies established by Endeavour. You will also foster strong working relationships with business stakeholders and core IT and business leadership teams.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
- Partnership: Partner with senior business managers to deliver the technology infrastructure needs of the organisation including projects required as part of the Endeavour Woolworths demerger.
- Project Management: Lead the full lifecycle of complex technical projects, including infrastructure upgrades, network refreshes, point-of-sale (POS) systems implementation, and other retail technology initiatives.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. Maintain a broad and deep understanding of network topologies, data center operations, cloud infrastructure, and security best practices to effectively guide project teams.
- Quality Management: Ensures all products are built to an appropriate level of quality and meet all aspects of the acceptance criteria
- Contract Management & Negotiation: Oversee all project-related vendor relationships. This includes drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts with external vendors and service providers to ensure favorable terms, adherence to scope, and cost-effectiveness.
- Retail Technology Focus: Drive the successful deployment and integration of technology solutions across a multi-site retail footprint, understanding the unique operational challenges and timelines of the retail business.
- Stakeholder Communication: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, and executive summaries. Proactively identify and manage risks, communicating potential impacts and mitigation strategies to all levels of the organization.
- Budget Management: Responsible for creating, monitoring, and controlling project budgets, tracking expenditure, and forecasting resource needs.
- Leadership capabilities - Drives performance and outcomes. Inspires and builds diverse teams and future leaders.
- Fosters an inclusive and respectful environment for all team members and stakeholders; must be comfortable working with multiple teams, be aware of all corporate happenings and seeks help when needed.
Now let’s talk about you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of experience in technical project management, managing large-scale IT projects.
- Demonstrable experience with core IT infrastructure and networks, including WAN/LAN, Wi-Fi, Telco services, virtualisation, cloud services (e.g.,Azure, GCP), and data center technologies.
- Proven expertise in contract management and negotiation, specifically with technology vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
- Significant experience working within the retail sector, managing projects that directly impact store operations, customer experience, and/or supply chain technology.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- A deep understanding of retail-specific software and hardware, including Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, mobile/handheld devices, and in-store technology.
- Experience and familiarity with the following platforms:
- Google Suite
- ServiceNow
- Planview
- Experience leading Transformation projects
